In 2021, Surgutskaya GRES-2 generated 28.4 billion kWh of power increasing this figure by 4.9% vs. 2020. The increased generation is provided by the recovery of power consumption, including lifted restrictions in the oil industry and increased power consumption by oil production and transportation companies. Cold winter at the start of 2021 and temperature records in the summer also effected the increase in power demand and, consequently, the increased output at Surgutskaya GRES-2. The maximum increase in power generation vs. the previous year (+13.9%) was achieved in Q4 2021 at Surgutskaya GRES-2 due to increase of load by the System Operator, and acceleration of repair schedule for Surgutskaya GRES-2 power units vs. the same period in 2020.
Heat power output grew by 17.2% vs. 2020 and amounted to 948.168 thousand Gcal, which can also be attributed to weather conditions.
