On May 14, Unipro PJSC Shaturskaya GRES Branch employees, jointly with volunteers of the Shatura Youth Centre took part in the “Green Territory” environmental campaign. In the new pedestrian zone along the Chernoye Lake embankment, eco-activists planted about 40 seedlings of lilacs and ninebark.
"For power engineers, planting trees is a common thing. Employees of our Power Plant have been continuously participating in the Green Territory campaign since 2013. Shrubs to be planted were selected jointly with the city administration. It is these species of plants, according to the city improvement project, should grow on the new embankment," said Yevgeniya Metelkina, head of the press center of Shaturskaya GRES branch of Unipro PJSC.
The attendees worked together on the project. While some planted the young trees, others watered them. The task was accomplished in less than an hour. Then the power engineers were entertained by volunteers from the Youth Center. The quest, water makeup, kayaking, songs around the campfire and fragrant tea - all this was a wonderful continuation of the eco-action.
