Sharypovo Drama Theatre presents their performances to Russian audiences, thanks to the support of Berezovskaya GRES

With the support of Berezovskaya GRES, the Sharypovo Municipal Drama Theatre joined the 2021 Golden Mask Festival, Moscow. The theatre won a special jury prize “For precision of artistic means and clarity of dramatic narrative” for the play “I Hired a Murderer”. It's a Finnish action story based on a script by Aki Kaurismäki and directed by Galina Salzman.

In addition, the artists successfully performed at the XVIII Festival of theatres of small towns of Russia in 2021. The “I Hired a Murderer” play was also awarded a special diploma. The theatre presented the same performance at the Contemporary Art Festival “Territory. Irkutsk”.

In addition, the theatre purchased the necessary items and structural materials for stage props at Unipro PJSC's expense and was able to perform fireproofing of the theatrical scenery (this is a mandatory requirement for participation in festivals).

Berezovskaya GRES Branch of Unipro PJSC and the Sharypovo Municipal Theatre have a long-standing partnership. In 2019, the company supported the renovation of the theatre building. That same year, thanks to Unipro's financial assistance, the Golden Mask festival was held in the city. The residents of Sharypovo could see the best performances of the Russian theatres, and the local theatre was also a participant of the festival.

The Sharypovo Drama theatre will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2022. In 1982, young director Natalya Zheltova and talented builders of KATEK (Kansk-Achinsk Fuel and Energy Complex) founded the folk theatre Phaeton in the new-built town of Sharypovo. Now it is a professional theatre, prominent even at the federal level.
