OGK-4 LAUNCHES POWER UNIT 3 COMPLETION PROJECT AT BEREZOVSKAYA TPP

OGK-4 has started the implementation of its investment project related to the completion of construction of SPP-800-based Power Unit No. 3 at its Berezovskaya TPP Subsidiary. By now, the Project Management Plan has been developed. From September 12, 2006, the Project Operation Center started its work. The Center comprises directors of the OGK-4 departments, including Director of Berezovskaya TPP Subsidiary Vladimir Borisov. The Center will operate under the supervision of OGK-4 Director General Andrey Kitashev. The primary objective of the Center is to organize biddings to select the Project General Designer and develop the Regulations for the Customer-Developer Directorate and its operation schedule. The Investment Committee of RAO UESR Business Unit No. 2 will be in charge of general supervision over the construction process.

It has been determined by the OGK-4 Board of Directors that the completion of construction of SPP-800-based Power Unit No. 3 at Berezovskaya TPP is one the Company's business priorities. In the mid-1990s, the construction of 800-MW Power Unit No. 3 at Berezovskaya TPP was suspended. As of today, about 50% of the construction work has been completed. The total cost of Power Unit Project is about 7 billion rubles. The Project completion is scheduled for 4Q2009.
