In January - March 2019, Unipro PJSC power plants generated 13.6 bln kWh, which is higher by 7.5% compared to the same period of 2018.
The increase in generation in Q1 2019 benefited from a generation rise at Surgutskaya GRES-2 resulting from higher demand for electric power and in addition to it the Power Unit No. 7 of Surgutskaya GRES-2 had become fully operational after its major inspection over February–March 2018. Berezovskaya GRES raised generation by 16% thanks to a higher demand for power units from the System Operator. It is an ongoing trend that started in Q4 last year.
During the reporting period, heat power generation decreased by 11.1% compared to the same period of 2018 and totalled 810.1 th. Gcal. The decrease was due to weather conditions.
