E.ON in the electric power industry of Russia: 5 years of success and achievements

On 29 November a Red-carpet reception dedicated to 5-year operation of E.ON Group in the electric power industry of Russia, was held in the State Historical Museum.
Aleksandr Novak, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Ulrich Bradenburg, ambassador of Germany in Russia, Bernhard Reutersberg, Board member of E.ON SE, Chairman of the Board of Directors of E.ON Russia JSC, heads of the Federal executive authorities, heads of regions, in which E.ON Russia JSC operates and others, took part in the reception.
 
"Being a major foreign investor in the electric power industry of Russia, E.ON significantly contributed to modernization of the Russian electric power industry. Russia for us is one of the top-important regions and it will always have the strategic value for E.ON. Our commitments in the Russian energy market should be treated as part of the long-term corporate strategy aimed at growth and further internationalization", Dr. Reutersberg pointed out.
 
"E.ON operates in the Russian electricity sector 5 years, and over the years E.ON Russia could make a really significant successes, taking the leading position in the industry. E.ON Russia today is the most efficient and profitable company in the sector of thermal power generation in the country", - Maksim Shirokov, Director General of E.ON Russia JSC said.
 
E.ON is one of the lead international gas and electric power groups operating in over 30 countries of the world. In 2007 E.ON became the owner of OGK-4 OAO generating company, subsequently it was renamed E.ON Russia JSC. Nowadays, E.ON Russia is the most efficient and profitable company in the heat power generation sector of the country, and E.ON is the major foreign investor in the electric power industry of Russia.
 
Some facts:
        In 2010-2011 E.ON Russia JSC put into operation 1,600 MW of new generating facilities and 100 MW more were added due to modernization of the existing power units;
        A coal-fired unit (800 MW) is under construction, commissioning – early 2015;
        Investments until 2015 will make up 109.4 billion roubles;
        Total investments of E.ON into the electric power industry of Russia until 2015 will make up 224 billion roubles;
