Unipro PJSC (E.ON Russia JSC until June 2016) is the most efficient company of the thermal power generation sector in the Russian Federation. Unipro PJSC consists of five heat power plants with the total capacity of 11,245.1 MW: Surgutskaya GRES-2 (5,667.1 MW), Berezovskaya GRES (2,400 MW), Shaturskaya GRES (1,500 MW), Smolenskaya GRES (630 MW) and Yaivinskaya GRES (1,048 MW).

Company’s core operations comprise electric power and capacity generation and sales. Unipro PJSC is operating at the Russian market of distributed generation and engineering as well.

In 2005, OGK-4 OJSC was established on the basis of five power plants of 8,630 MW: Surgutskaya GRES-2, Berezovskaya GRES, Shaturskaya GRES, Smolenskaya GRES and Yaivinskaya GRES.

On April 25, 2023, the President of the Russian Federation signed Decree No. 302, according to which 83.73% of the shares of Unipro PJSC owned by the Uniper SE concern are transferred to the interim administration of the Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo).

In 2010-2011, the Company put into operation 4 new combined cycle power units with the total capacity of 1,600 MW at Surgutskaya GRES-2, Shaturskaya GRES and Yaivinskaya GRES, and increased the capacity of Berezovskaya GRES by 100 MW due to the equipment modernization. After the commissioning of a coal-fired power unit of 800 MW at Berezovskaya GRES in 2015, E.ON Russia (Unipro PJSC since June 2016) completed its investment program, having increased the total installed capacity by 2,400 MW.

In 2016, due to remarking of 800MW STU power units, Surgutskaya GRES-2 has officially obtained the aggregate extra-power of 60 MW.

In 2017, at Yaivinskaya GRES Branch upgrade of the gas turbine of power unit No.5 of PGU-400 was carried out in order to increase the installed power by 24 MW.

Thus, as a result of the construction of new facilities and the implemented modernization program, currently the total installed capacity of Unipro PJSC is 11,245.1 MW.
