First Boiler Start-up and Steam-Water-Oxygen Cleaning Process Launch at Berezovskaya GRES Power Unit No. 3

First boiler start-up with stepwise heat power ramp-up to 30 % has been carried out at Berezovskaya GRES Power Unit No. 3 Boiler after completion of equipment repairs and pre-commissioning.

These activities laid the foundation for the commencement of works under the Steam-Water-Oxygen Cleaning and Passivation Program (SWOC&P) for the boiler steam/water circuit and the Power Unit steam pipelines, aimed at ensuring the required level of cleanliness of the boiler steam/water circuit and main steam pipelines, and necessary to ensure reliability of all steam power equipment of the Power Unit.

The works under the SWOC&P Program will be carried out for the period of approximately two weeks. Successful completion of steam-water-oxygen cleaning and passivation activities will ensure transitioning to the final stage of the Power Unit major overhaul – trim runs of the steam turbine and commencement of integrated testing of Power Unit No. 3.
