In the First Half of 2021, Unipro PJSC Increased Electricity Generation by 4.3%

From January to June 2021, Unipro PJSC power plants increased their generation by 4.3% – up to 22.7 billion kWh of electricity year-on-year.

The increase in electricity generation in the first half of the year is attributed to the recovery of electricity consumption and export flows after the crisis decline in 2020. Weather factors – colder winter in Q1 2021 and temperature records in May and June 2021 – also influenced the increase in electric energy demand and the essentiality of generating equipment at Unipro power plants.

In addition, weather conditions affected thermal energy production, which amounted to 1240.2 thousand Gcal (+24.3% compared to the first half of 2020).
