The maintenance of the power unit took 81 days and was completed as scheduled. Over this period, the power engineers opened the high-pressure cylinder, inspected the turbine unit high-pressure rotor axial passage, and completed scheduled technical diagnostics and industrial safety expert examinations of technical devices.
In addition, the reliability enhancement programme developed by the branch involved large-scale metal testing on the boiler heating surfaces and pipelines. These activities included: ultrasound testing – 199 welds, 17,118 bends; magnetic particle tests – 11 valve casings, 7,958 dm2 of power generation equipment assemblies and parts; positive material identification (analysis of metal and alloys) – 939 boiler parts and assemblies.
The power unit has successfully passed process tests. The technical activities performed during the maintenance campaign will ensure reliable operation of the power unit during the forthcoming winter period of peak loads. The summer maintenance campaign at Unipro PJSC Berezovskaya GRES Branch is continuously underway. On 14 August, Power Unit No. 1 will be taken down for routine repairs.
