Employees of Shaturskaya GRES donated more than 10 liters of blood

Power engineers of Shaturskaya GRES branch of Unipro PJSC took part in Donor Day. The event took place on July 12 in the psychophysiological support laboratory (first aid station) of the power plant.

According to the rules, before donating blood, potential donors are examined by a doctor, a blood sample is taken from a finger, and the temperature and blood pressure are measured. Then proceed to the main procedure. It takes no more than 15 minutes.

On the day of the event, 23 employees of Shaturskaya TPP donated their blood. Thus, doctors received more than 10 liters of blood. It will be sent to the Children's Oncology Center in Balashikha.

Statistically, one and a half million Russians get blood transfusions each year. It is required for burnt people, victims of traffic accidents, patients with cancer, with acute exacerbations of peptic ulcer disease. 

Alexander Bychkov, boiler equipment operator at the boiler and turbine shop of Shaturskaya GRES branch of Unipro PJSC: "I've donated my blood more than 40 times, and I have the "Honorary Donor" title. For me, it's a charity thing, because someone always needs donated blood, and most often it's an emergency”.
