Unipro is implementing a programme to reduce negative impact on the environment

In order to fulfil the environment programme, Surgutskaya-2 GRES is implementing tailored technical solutions that reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. In particular, this is the reconstruction of burner devices on the boilers of power units.

In this connection, the supply of recirculated gases to the third tier of burners of Power Units 1, 5 and 6 was cut off during the overhauls. As a result, in 2021 gross atmospheric emissions of pollutants decreased by 911.8 tons (4.5%) with output up by 4.5%.

Reducing nitrogen oxide emissions is another step towards achieving one of the sustainable development goals of Unipro, i.e. reducing the negative impact on the environment.
