Smolensk Power Engineers Completed the 2022 Repair Campaign

Unipro PJSC’s Smolenskaya GRES branch took down its 210 MW power unit No. 3 for repairs.

As part of the repairs, specialists performed the technical refurbishment of the secondary convection superheater. 124 sets of steam superheater tubes weighing about 45 tonnes were replaced. In addition, 64 pipes of the right side screen (salt section) of buildings 3A and 3B were replaced at the boiler unit, and the boiler drums were repaired with a complete disassembly of the drum internals.

The major repair scope involved a large volume of in-service inspection of metal and boiler heating surfaces. The industrial safety of the key pipelines: live steam, hot reheat, cold reheat, as well as low and high pressure preheaters was examined.

The works of repairing К-210-130-3 turbine set were completed.

In April, Smolenskaya GRES completed the current repairs on power unit No. 1, and in June – the current repairs of power unit No. 2. In September, the works of repairing heat networks were completed, and the branch commenced a winter season in Ozerny settlement as ordered by the administration of the Ozernensky municipal settlement.   

The 2022 repair campaign is aimed at providing a reliable operation of energy equipment and generation of electricity and heat throughout the year.
